Thomas Kemp originally enclosed the gardens with iron railings at his own expense in 1823. Now, construction of the railings is well under way with the plinth now completed along the sea facing side of the Enclosures in readiness for the new railings. We are keen to raise money to help.
The plinth on the Southern Boundary of the Enclosure is complete. Now we are looking for funding for the railings. We are applying to various charities and individuals to help raise the money required to bring the railings at the Southern side of the gardens back to their former glory.
